SOUTHEASTERN, MI – The vision of the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation is to become the
premier Greek Letter Foundation in its resources and services to the community. The mission of
the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation is to provide support for Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity,
Incorporated members and others in service to communities with particular emphasis on
African-American communities.
The Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation, Incorporated exists as the philanthropic arm of Kappa Alpha
Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. The Fraternity was founded in 1911 with a fundamental purpose to
“Encourage Honorable Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor.” The Foundation was
established in 1981 as a non-profit, tax exempt, publicly supported organization as described in
Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code.
Its purpose is to assist the community service efforts of the more than 600 active undergraduate
and alumni chapters of Kappa Alpha Psi. The Foundation currently supports scholarships, afterschool
programs and national projects such as Habitat for Humanity. The priority purpose of the
Foundation is to raise money to award grants for community projects which are intended to
enhance the lives and status of the underclass of our society. All grants are restricted to nonprofit
entities.
“A Night at the Kotton Klub provides a great opportunity to educate the general public and
business community about our philanthropic endeavors while also enjoying a great night of
entertainment in a classy atmosphere.
“A Night at the Kotton Klub” is scheduled for Saturday November 3, 2018 at the elegant
Somerset Inn located in Troy, MI. Tables are $850 while limited individual tickets are available
for $85. A portion of the ticket expense is tax deductible, and proceeds are being earmarked to
support the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation Scholarship Fund of the Detroit and Pontiac, MI
Chapters of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
